I'll be marrying a Canadian citizen (she also has US citizenship) in a few months. I haven't looked into it at all, so naturally I figured SF would be the best place to start. Is there any benefit to becoming Canadian? The only thing I can think of is that I used to feel really superior to most Americans, but no longer do. This could be a good way to recover that.

This probably should have been in DT.

An excellent vantage point from which you could lob in death and destruction onto the CE lowlands.

She is the best Canada has to offer. Don't tarnish her contribution.

Mordy, you're just mad that Obama got re-elected and want to join the rest of the left-coasters in their protest exodus.

No, do not do that. I don't really have a reason; just don't.

I don't know if I'm passionate enough about beer to go through with it.

What are your feelings regarding hockey, Tim Horton's, and Rush?

You are not Canadian material, my friend. I should know, as they come shopping in my city every weekend.

I hate to tell you this but I don't think you have what it takes. Let's test this out by asking you a few questions.

1) What season runs from April-September?
2) How many Export As do you smoke in a day?
3) Is a plaid flannel shirt appropriate for evening wear?
4) What's the most famous Jewish Canadian author (you should really get this one)?
5) What does every PM in the modern era need to be able to do?
6) What's a "double double?"
7) Who was the greatest hockey player of all time if you were born in Quebec?

Let's start with those and see if you're even a real candidate.
