Advice: Velvet Blazer Outfit - Page 2

As much as I like the velvet slippers idea I'm leaving it for another time. I picked up some nice charcoal flannels, they're being hemmed at the moment.

I also picked up a white shirt, the pattern goes very well with the velvet blazer, the paring looks quite luxurious:

Now I'm deciding between pocket squares, do you think they work? which do you like the most? Keeping in mind I'm wearing charcoal trousers and brown shoes.

(I've just stuffed these in for matching purposes)

The dots are best. Makes me think of champagne bubbles smile.gif

Don't care for the color of the other one. IT clashes with the color of your tie.

Hmm, maybe it's too light and it's clashing.

How about this one, the colours are a little bolder:

3rd square works better than 2nd I think?

Polkadot blends the best but they both convey different feels:

Polkadot - new age monocle wearer

Patterns - Regency classic

You really should be wearing black shoes if this is an evening event.

I have some long black very smart brogues. Not sure they'll got with the charcoal flannels though?

Of course black and grey go together.

The bow tie overkills this outfit for me.

When I imagine meeting you in that outfit, I cant see myself assessing the outfit as a whole, but rather look at the individual constituents.
I look at the navy velvet SC, then notice the bow tie, then go over to the PS and finally look at the shoes.
To me, an outfit needs to work together instead of consisting for several different lonestanding items.

I am not sure, if you get what I am trying to say, but basically odd items are fine, but not too many and you got to many imo.

Brogues aren't great for evening either. Do you have an unadorned pair of black shoes?
