Corporate Christmas Party.....need advice on pairings

I got invited to attend this corporate Christmas party in Nashville by a really good friend that I havent spoken to in about 5 years. I have decided on a charcoal suit w/ park avenues. Here is where I am stuck. She bought me a forest green pocket square with red dots from J/Crew to wear to the invent.

Here is a picture of it:700

I normally do not wear greens, so I am having a hard time coming up with pairings for this. Also, if it matters, she is wearing a short gold sequins dress.

Thanks

Burgundy grenadine.

(though please note that either a burgundy or navy grenadine is almost always my recommendation, so take that with a grain of salt)

I was originally thinking a Burgundy french cuff shirt.

Burgundy french cuff shirt?
Don't even go there.

Gold sequin dress?
What does that have to do
with sober, old money, elegant look you should be striving for.

Well, I did come here for suggestions. You're almost there.

This is what I think I have ultimately decided on. I wear a 43L and have a 32" waist. Do you happen to know a decent brand for a person on a budget as far as slim french cuff shirts?

man and woman?

Cheese and Wine?

up and down?

Left and Right?

White shirt. All your shirts should really be in the white, blue, or even pink ranges. At least, if you are planning on wearing a tie. (Though I would argue in general, they should be)

What about the tie?

You'd be hard pressed to go wrong with a nice burgundy tie (nothing thin, shiny, or with a complex pattern), a white shirt, a charcoal suit and that square.

Because of the burgundy and green, it'll be appropriately festive. I'm not great with pocketsquares, but I think you want the secondary color (in this case red) of the ps to be near the color of the tie (burgundy), so it should work in that sense (again...not very good with my ps understanding). Most importantly, it'll be a tie that you can wear regularly with a variety of suits and jackets. You don't want to ever buy a tie for a single occasion.

A second option, though I think the color isn't appropriate. An example of grenadine from Kent Wang:

And if you reallllyy want to get a good tie, check out Sam Hober's grenadines:

But that might take longer since they are all made to measure. Still you would get it before Christmas
