If you have a specific set of things you want, you should just go out and find a way to buy them yourself.  It sounds like you're setting yourself up for disappointment with these requests and expectations.  Not at all the spirit of a Secret Santa type event.

Yes I realize making a post saying "I don't want clothing" will help the partner in coming up with a package, but I'm trying to say that overall attitude towards this that some people seem to be taking is a bit weird.

Lets fight smack.gif

Or we can just go buy stuff and make gift packages together shog[1].gif

edit - but I get the sentiment, I just think its more fun to make personalized package based on internet personas (as you say) then just try to buy people clothes.

I wouldn't want clothing. Buying stuff for myself is hard enough without someone else having to do it. A cool beanie or gloves or some shit perhaps but not clothing.

Local candy and snacks and crap is what I'd love to receive...and other random tat biggrin.gif

I think the point of this is like Secret Santa stuff in general (and, to some extent, much of X-mas time gift-giving): the point isn't to ask for what you want or have specific expectations of what you'll receive; the point is to try to put together cool/funny/unique stuff for your giftee.

I kind of hate X-mas, but it can be pretty fun to try to suss out an awesome gift for someone on your list.

edit: Bows kinda beat me to it.

yeah that's what I was trying to say if it wasn't clear.  Drop the expectations and just roll with it.  I'm not trying to make it identical to the SuFu one.  There are no expectations of clothes there either. Or expectations of local goods. Or expectations of weed.  etc.  So I guess in that way I am saying make it like SuFu.  No expectations except having fun. I don't think it's a ridiculous expectation on my part (get it? GET IT??)

I hadn't signed up because I wasn't sure of the deadlines, but now that I see they have been been updated, and everyone knows I'm a total grouch about this and will send me coal, I'm in:

Small or 36 chest / 30 waist / 42 or 9.5 shoe

And now for my own unique flower question: Can I (preferably) be given someone in the states?

Just tried on the Cabourn Cameraman in Harris Tweed (amazing that someone in Portland even carries Cabourn..) and now I'm glad i didn't know how well it fits tall skinny people before now.

I want to join this but I really wish I can pick who is the receiver of my package shog[1].gif
He hasn't even joined yet so that's holding me back from joining.

Clothes wise, I have an unworn size L Marc Jacobs collection sweater ( gifted) and a really cool Kim Jones polo shirt (size L) that I want to include in my package and some local goodies that makes colabear the phatboy that he is.

" knitten" polo shirt from Kim Jones, size L, cat print jersey with quirky seaming detail

Alright I'm in!

Shirts: XL

Pants: 36

Shoes: 12

I live in Austin, Texas so I'll find you something cool.

Plus I'll be in Singapore and Bali for a good bit of December and January.

So it'll be a bit of a Texas meets Asia vibe.
