Button stance on double breasted jacket

Where should the bottom button be? I really like the blue db blazer I picked up but I think the button stance is off. Can this be adjusted by the tailor without butchering the jacket?

If I understand the question correctly, if you alter the button too much or at all it will throw off the balance of the coat

I should clarify. I think jacket needs to be shortened and the button sits too low. I might just take it to my tailor and see what he has to say

I had this problem before and the tailor said the jacket on a DB should be longer than a SB suit.

If the button sits too low already I don't believe it can be shortened as it will throw the jacket off.
