You seem to be overly defensive of EG, as if they don't make mistakes. EG made it right, but it was delayed and a hassle. The should not have left the factory in the condition I received them. I saved a picture. See anything wrong with this?

Don't get me wrong, I own quite a few pair of EGs, and I like them. But, they are not on the pedestal that you are placing them on.

I agree that that shoe should not have left the factory like that, and can understand why you where disappointed with their services, in your position I certainly would have been disappointed too. But I don't think it is fair to imply that this example is the standard one can expect from a recraft by E.G., I doubt that they would be in business today if it was. Bottom line is, like any company they sometimes make mistakes. The question is do they make wrong right again? Was the problem not fixed to you satisfaction in the end? Sure it cost you some time and hassle. But do you think you would have received and equal service from a third party cobbler if he made the same mistake. I personally have not been so lucky with with the third party cobblers I have dealt with up until now, but again YMMV.

I am not placing E.G. on a pedestal, just saying as the OEM manufacturer they naturally have the edge over the competition when it comes to maintenance over their own products, but this edge does come at a premium however. BTW I have the same conviction when it comes to other products like my car as an example, my Audi goes to Audi for servicing for the same reasons.

I wasn't aware of a restructuring when I posted that. But something had to be amiss. They do see posts on this forum so perhaps it was personal smile.gif
