On a serious note and in deference to b!os, with the site in question the legal burden is on the site operator, not the end user. Whereas with a torrent the end user has some minor risk of legal jeapordy.

You do not download (read: save) the file to your computer. Moreover, you do not share it.

I don't think they consider streaming any different than saving, because they aren't. Hell, with the new version of utorrent, you can stream your torrents before they are even done downloading.

@OP: Do you by any chance mean the media library of bbc.co.uk [if there is such thing that is regionally restricted]? In that case you'd either need a UK proxy or VPN.

The safest course of action is his second piece of advice, that is, to make use of a proxy service like KPROXY or Astrill, and then visit the BBC site.

Or, if you're looking for a specific episode of a TV show, someone may have uploaded it to the Pirate Bay, and then you could download it with minimal risk.

Also there is the question of whether proxies can support video. Now that I think of it, I don't think web based proxies like KPROXY can. Also they slow your connection down considerably.


Sounds like Astrill may be your best route.

A lot of Beeb docs get put on YouTube, such as the Savile Row series, Louis Theroux shows and the like. Have someone tape it and put it on YouTube. We probably all want to see it anyway. Plus there won't be any porn.
