I sort of enjoy going into the small store with a sort of angry old man running the place. The kind of guy who will do anything for you if you are polite, but doesn't take any crap and has no trouble with telling you where the door is if you are rude.

Please don't think the big dept store I work at lack of a return policy is permission to lease shoes for a weekend.
