Cardigans - Hang or Fold?

Thread Starter

I just got my first cardigan, and I'm just wondering do you guys hang them or fold them? Would using a thick wooden hanger prevent it from getting that pilling of fabric in the shoulders?

It's a 100% cotton cable knit one with fairly thick fabric.

I have a bunch of cashmere cardigans. I fold them all.

I suggest not to hang any form of knitwear. Just in case.

Might be best not to hang knitwear, could make it stretch. I always fold sweaters.

^ Fun contraptions such as these tend to excite people to the point of vacuum-sealing everything including the family cat. Best never to start.

I only hang suits, dress shirts and pants.

Everything else is folded, rolled or vacuum sealed and stored in a cryo-chamber.

hanging sweaters often leads to the neck stretching and ruining it. i see it all the time at sweaters that have been on the hanger too long at outlet stores.
