Joining a 'neo nazi' group? Am I the only one who sees it that way?

I don't like either of those. 3/4 and full length leather doesn't appeal to me. Not to mention, both of those coats are a little strange. Why's there a flap over the right shoulder of the first one, and why's the left chest pocket slanted on the second one?

I s leather going to be big in 2013? If so, I'm a loser. The last time I wore a leather jacket was when I was in college..and that was ancient history.

Historically so you could reach your pistol / any other military goodies inside your trench coat without undoing the coat.

I have a Belstaff (forgot which model, all look so similar) and was about to disagree with your comment till I saw their site

This is a diffucilt decision as we cannot see your body type. A photo will help.

Of the two....

Burberry London Belted Leather Trench Coat
700

Belstaff Panther Jacket
700

...I see it this way. As soon as I saw the Burberry (before reading Gdots comment) I instantaneously thought 'Naziwear'. After studying the photo for a few minutes I concluded that I dislike it, partly because it is short (not a proper trench coat length) and secondly, because of its shortness, the belt makes it hang girly. If, on the other hand, it had been full length to just below the knee, it would scream 'Inner Party Member' or 'Obersturmbannfuehrer'
Therefore, of the two, I would go with the Belstaff. I like the pockets, all of them. I can see the concern that this jacket may be overwhelming on a smaller frame but it seems trim enough. The question is, what is your own style preference? Wait...the thread title suggests you prefer military..then back to the Burberry of these two.

I'm not sure of the why, but the slanted left chest pocket is pretty common with Belstaff and Barbour jackets.
