Just saw Charles Tyrwhitt's sale on the US site.. buy 1 shirt, get 2 free. Problem is they made the prices sky high, Jos A. Bank style! Haha.

Picked up a solid navy RL Polo (Polo I model) SC for $293 + tax! Let freedom reign!

Yeah this is no better than the regular 4/$200 deal. You can buy 1 get 2 free, but they are $160 each, so they actually come out a little higher at $53 per shirt. If you hunt around, you can usually find some kind of promotion for $40/per shirt, with no minumum amount to purchase. The last thing I saw like this was a Wall Street Journal introductory offer, but I don't know if that is still around.

...agreed. You can find most of the deals at other times of the year. The casual shopper just doesn't realize it.

Anybody notice good deals on their end?

Up here in Canada, some black Friday sales were advertised, but nothing special at the outlets (although I did pick up an SC as noted above).

The really good values were in the larger sizes; highlights include:

Thom Browne Navy SC - Made in Japan - Marked down to $200 from $1400
Tom Ford dress trousers marked down to $300 from $1000 (staple colours grey and charcoal)
Other than that, nothing that stood out.

It was amazing to see so many people flock to the outlets here in Florida, no parking to be had at all, and the discounts were not even the best of the year. Only reason I can come up with for the quantity of shoppers, is that they just wanted to be part of the days shopping festivities.

I tried, but couldn't find anything worth while. I'll just wait for Boxing Day...

Are you trying to prove him right?

You seem shocked that so many people showed up, but YOU WENT. The reason for you going is probably the same reason for why other guys went. Were you one of those people who just "wanted to be part of the day's shopping festivities?"

How many baby seals did you club to death on your way to Tim Horton's this morning?

I never buy any clothing on Black Friday. I do my normal Christmas shopping for people and all money I save for my own purchases is spent on the post-Christmas sales.

The Brooks Brothers one last year was good. If it's anything like that again I'll be able to buy a couple sport coats and some other things.

Four. It was a slow day.

Seconded on that CTshirt "deal". Talk about trying to pull a fast one.

BR has 40% off right now but now I'm suspicious about every retailer marking up before their BIG SALE basically making you come out even...
