Driving in California - Page 2

Did the drive today. 101 until Salinas, when we scooted over to 1 at Marina. Left the coast at Pescadero (sp?) and had a lovely if slow drive from La Honda through the forests. Left Claremont at 8 and came to Palo Alto just after 5. Morning rush hour at Pasadena was not much fun.

Modest regret on the choice of car-- the convertible top has been nearly useless. By the time we got to where we were going slowly enough to enjoy it, the fog started descending to the point that the auto wipers began their chores. Still, better to find out these things before making a stupid purchase. And the car itself was very quiet with the top up.

46 has a lot of deaths every year, I think it is considered the most dangerous road in California.
