Hey all --

We're excited to announce the launch of our limited-run pocket squares. Made here in the USA, we designed these pocket squares to be 11" in size and made with hefty 100% cotton. They're the perfect size and weight to add a pop of color to the breast pocket of a blazer or the back pocket of a pair of denim - the perfect stocking (or pocket!) stuffer this holiday season.

Check them out now by clicking on the picture below.

As always, let us know if you have any questions at all by replying to this thread or shooting us an email at service@hughandcrye.com

Thanks so much and happy holidays,

I received my first H&C shirt last week and overall I'm really pleased with it.  I followed your fit guide and got the Assateague in Short/Athletic on sale and I have to say the fit is damn near perfect on me.  Very impressive for a $45 shirt.

A couple suggestions though:

  • Could you please offer more shirts with pockets, or perhaps the option to add a pocket to any of your shirts.  That was really the only detail that I missed on the shirt that I received.
  • The only place where the fit was less than stellar were the cuffs.  It's possible that I just have girly little wrists, but they were a bit loose for me, even with a watch on.  Smaller diameter cuffs or maybe a second cuff button to add some adjustability would be great.

Keep up the great work guys!

Just out of curiosity, certainly not trying to be mean, buy why do people purchase ready-made shirts when you can order custom MTM shirts from several of the forum's vendors? I just don't get it.

Cloth, subtle styling queues, sometimes its difficult to get the collar or fit just right on a MTM/Custom order and it has to be re-made when you can buy it right the first time.  Plus I like having a little brand diversification in my wardrobe where I'm not wearing the same type of shirt over and over.  Personally though, cloth is the biggest thing, most MTM/Custom shirt manufacturers just don't have a large enough selection to keep it interesting.

I own a few custom shirts and there are several reasons I wanted to give H&C a try.  Their shirts are significantly more affordable than most MTM custom shirts, particularly when they have sales going on.  They also ship significantly faster than any custom MTM shirt would.  I happen to be lucky in that one of H&C fits suits me almost perfectly, so it is very convenient to order a ready-made shirt from them.  Obviously, this isn't the case for everyone.

Hey CakeOD --

We're really happy to hear that you're pleased with the fit of the Short/Athletic. Thank you for the kind words! And thanks so much for your feedback, it's really helpful!

Pockets: We're slowly introducing more shirts with pockets. When we started Hugh & Crye, our goal was to design versatile shirts that could go from being dressed up formally to being dressed down casually and anything in between. The clean front without a pocket gave us that versatility. Moving forward we're going to be introducing shirts for specific occasions, such as our new collection of washed casuals and many other styles.

Cuff size: As far as the cuff diameter goes, we cut it a little looser so that it falls a bit more naturally on to the wrist, and avoids the bunching up that happens with some shirts. Our sleeves are pretty tailored overall, so there's less draping or extra fabric. The shirt you ordered is our button-down collar style, which we designed to be a bit more casual with a rounded cuff. By the way, we can certainly have a tailor attach a second button to the cuff for any button-downs you order from us in the future - let us know, we'd be happy to work that out. All of our other shirt styles (tall spread, cutaway, point, etc.) come with a second button on the cuff.

We want to make shirt buying as easy as possible for you, so just let us know what we can do. I hope this explains a little more of the thinking behind each shirt. We've noted your feedback and now that you're on our list, we'll update you when we introduce new designs.

Thanks again!

Phil

Hey everyone,

We just got a new batch of limited run pocket squares in. Like the ones that we mentioned above, these 11" squares are all made in the USA of 100% cotton--including a few that are made from some pretty interesting Japanese cottons. Click here, or on the picture below to check them out.

We're having a lot of fun with these pocket squares and would love to hear what you all think.

Cheers,

~ TC

Hugh & Crye Diplomat shirts

Fit for a Diplomat

A few months back, we launched the Diplomat Shirts. Seven, in conservative-work-environment-friendly fabric patterns (pencil stripes, small box checks and a royal oxford), in our new insta-classic American tall point collar. Odes to the men (and women), who represent American interests world wide. We're surrounded by diplomats here in Washington, DC... but to be honest, we really don't understand what they do. Never mind that, we wholeheartedly support what they do.

For a limited time, the following Diplomat Shirts are on sale for
$30 off - simply use code "DIPLOMATS" (case sensitive), and you'll see the discount reflected in your cart. Valid until Sunday, January 13th.

  • Diplomat - black/white box check - $85, now $55
  • Attache - purple/white box check - $85, now $55
  • Counselor - blue/white dobby stripe - $85, now $55
  • Ambassador - blue striped 140s poplin - $125, now $95
  • High Commissioner - blue striped 140s poplin - $125, now $95
  • First Secretary - blue royal oxford - $85, now $55
  • Minister - blue poplin pencil stripe - $85, now $55

Please let us know if you have any questions at all!

Hey @SickOfBeingRich,

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately, we won't be restocking the "Agency Blue Grey" tie anytime soon. However, we just restocked the Agency Charcoal Sharkskin tie. Please let me know if you have any other questions at all! Best,

Philip
