Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I'd like to get a ballpark of the style people are interested in, i.e. with tassels, colour etc and then we'll see how many guys we can get for that shoe (hopefully enough), get a price, then we'll place the order.

I'm hoping to offer an advantage to the UK in that their price will be lower. We're so used to getting screwed with higher prices because of the VAT reductions to non-EU residents that I would like to turn that around for once!!

hmm I think I'd go tassels. Can't see your pics of the swatches too clearly on my monitor, but I like the look of the grainy leathers, and I suppose I'd prefer a conservative shade of brown or even black. Would consider suede too perhaps.

Yeah, those pictures are far from HD!!

I was thinking the same, either a brown of black leather. The leather shown in the pictures is deer. I handled these shoes at Pitti and they are buttery soft.

Nice. Also like the moccasins. Do you have pictures of the soles Shaya?

In my mind, they are known for making the famous Belgian loafers. Most people would've seen theses sported by Luca Rubinacci and there is good reason for this, Farfalla have an exclusive agreement with Rubinacci to only produce the Belgian loafers for them.

I believe, the “real” Belgian loafers are still (and so they should be) made in Belgium, hence the name. And the sole supplier for Belgian loafers which are produced in Belgium (Bruges to be precise) is the store Belgian Shoes in New York, which was founded by Henri Bendel (“You’re the top, you’re a Bendel bonnet”), in the 1950s. (Available in London at Nicky Haslam in Pimlico.)

Next up at Pitti was my quest to find affordable grenadine ties. It is part of my plan to bring affordable but high quality products to those in the UK, even though we have to pay the 20% VAT, I want the prices to be on par with those that other countries are paying/charging.

With this maker, I think I've achieved it. Who makes the ties will stay a secret for now, but they are handmade in Italy and make ties for some top brands.

Pricing will be around £45 (plus shipping - free in the UK) - They will be lightly lined, silk tipped and with a fancy bar tack, these were points that were specified by myself. They will be available in 2 widths (8cm & 9cm). Delivery is expected at the end of July.

These ties will be going along side a bespoke grenadine tie offering which is a collaboration between Exquisite Trimmings and Passaggio Cravatte, but more about that later!
