Has anyone tried this new Tarrago Nano Protector on shell? I'm not sure if its a new product or just something that's recently been permitted for sale in the US .. I'm definitely going to apply it to suede, but would like to hear from others before putting it on shell.

I'm pretty sure that's the case. I remember seeing Kirby from the HangerProject mentioning he had some special permit to bring the Saphir sprays into the US.

Regarding your question about shell.. Just found this on the Tarrago website - Not sure if it answers your question though - Colorless spray. Suitable for natural and synthetic leather, suede, nubuck and breathable and waterproofing High TECH fibers, like Gore Tex

SF10 is the standard 10% discount code for all SF members placing order. It should work now also.

It does? I didn't know, and didn't use it. The order is on the way to me.

Edit: Shaya read this post, and immediately refunded me an amt. equivalent to 10% discount. This is really top-notch customer service!

Back from Pitti (and a nice thing for a 300th post - My Pitti Report).

To begin with, I left my camera at home and had to buy another in the airport!

In some ways it was great, in others not so great, I had some pretty hardcore letdowns that just ruined my day (for example, Carmina told me they will no longer be taking on anymore online retailers as they don't want to upset their current stockists - I'm not quite sure how there appears to be a new stockist popping up everyweek over here then! What I have taken from it though, is that it's time for Exquisite Trimmings to become brick and mortar!).

I'm not much of a writer but I'll try to piece something of a report together about my experiences there, the brands I visited and any interesting information I think people might be want to hear.

I totally underestimated how hot it would be over there. Thankfully, I had packed clothes that would help me deal with the heat. I'm not one of those guys that can wear a suit and tie no matter what the weather. From now on, I'm tempted to only go in the Winter!

The first brand I met with was Albert Thurston.

I've always wanted to stock braces, but the amount of choice is totally overwhelming and I just couldn't pinpoint exactly what I wanted, so I thought, just go for the basics, and that's what I did (or I think I did.)

I went with a few colours in the boxcloth, hand stitched ends in lambskin (only available in white) and a few colours in the moire braces. Expect to see Albert Thurston soon at Exquisite Trimmings.

Boxcloth and Moire swatches

If you don't choose the handsewn ends, these are the leather choices you have.

Some interesting samples

More to come tomorrow....
