John just cracked at the end. Taking almost all the dill was a dick move, and that comment about keeping the pickle jar was just bizarre. What did Anthony Bourdain say about him in Kitchen Confidential?

I chuckled about Joshua's quip "Hope John was able to find a pan flat enough to cook a burger in."

John was really, REALLY on my nerves more than usual in that final episode. I'm so glad he got the boot and Lizzie got to stay. She's such a sweetie and good natured whereas he's a complete and utter twat.

I actually am friends with a former contestant who was asked to return as a veteran, declined, and therefore Josie was approached to join the cast this season.

Well, in the spirit of getting this thread back on track: so WTF about Micah getting sent home? Although I don't think it's immediate cause to return to the producers-made-them-do-it theory, since his concept and dish were pretty lame. It'll be super interesting to see how the next episode plays out, especially since the promo is already setting us up for yet another Josie meltdown.

Also, anyone else enjoying Last Chance Kitchen almost as much as the actual episodes?

His concept and food were definitely lame. But Josie's cheesy pork was disgusting looking and, apparently, nearly inedible. All she does is over- or under-cook a protein, then drench it in a yellow-orange cheese sauce. Everything she makes could come off the TGIF menu or the back of a Velveeta box. So, I can't see how her condemnable execution was better than Micah's merely boring and incoherent sushi-but-not-sushi-but-really-is-sushi.

Then, it had to be a triumph of concept. Miami-style street food. Whatever that is (pardon my ignorance). But, is it cheesy pork?

Watching the Restaurant Wars episode now and I can't shake the feeling that Josie is trolling Kristen's team on purpose.

 

"I don't rush; that's not my thing." She's annoying and hilarious at the same time.

Kristen going home would be as egregious an error as Hosea winning season five. I think this is just some produced tension before Josie goes home. At least, I hope that's what it is.
