H&M Coat Quality?

I've been wanting a half peacoat like the first link but I don't think I would get one from H&M. They have quite a few store fronts here in Dubai and every time I go in there what I see is of the quality you would expect for the price. It's relatively inexpensive stuff so it will be relatively cheaply constructed. That's just what you will find for that price. However you can sometimes find good deals on great coats on Ebay. Might be worth a look.

At that price, "quality" probably isn't your main concern. As far as winter coats go, you'd still be cold as fxck here in those, but I like the first one more. Before buying, make sure that you actually try on a few sizes.

I think that would depend on what type of work you are putting it through. Where I live now (Dubai) it would last forever since I'd rarely wear it. In my original home town of San Diego it would probably hold up ok because it would only go through light rain a couple months out of the year. However I would guess it would get torn apart going through a Chicago winter for instance.

What exactly is "polyamide?"  I can't imagine it's warm.  Does this matter?  If not, you can probably get 2 light-use years out of these coats.

Just bought the first option today using the 40% discount, and it works. Weather was hitting about 40 degrees and I was fairly warm while riding my bicycle and only wearing a collared shirt from work. Although I will say that I am a bit unsatisfied with the cut. I had to settle for a 40R when I am normally a 38R (it turned out to be too tight and inflexible), and as a result it doesnt hug my sillouette as I'd prefer it to.

In terms of quality, the jacket appears fairly durable. I think within two years I can expect to see a few loose threads, but I am not anticipating the thing to fall apart.This will go under relatively heavy use, as I'll probably wear it most of winter here in DC. You'll get at least two-three seasons out of it, I'm sure.
