13 of 14 on my bracket. Damn Harvard. I was really tempted to pick them because I thought NMU was overly reliant on weak competition and homecourt advantage. But I didn't. Oh well, audentes fortuna juvat.
This has already been a great tournament. Davidson/Marquette. Cal winning. St. Mary's almost pulling it off. Harvard. Gozanga almost losing. Lots of excitement. All I need is Louisville to lose before the Elite Eight or whatever they call it now and I'll be happy.
Yeah, lots of good games yesterday. Didn't see as many as I wanted, but hope to make up for that today if I can get away from work early. Being in Hoosier territory, a lot of my colleagues are headed to Dayton for the Indiana game. Unfortunately I've got too much on my plate right now to make the trip.
Creighton-Cincy was good to watch. K-State was impressive coming back right out of the gate in the second half to make that a game. It looked like they were about to get embarrassed: moreso than just losing to a 13 seed.
Give FLGC some credit, those dudes played above the rim. That wasn't your typical team of dudes who play for a small school. They had swagger, skill, size. played uptempo and came out looking to ram the ball down GTown's throat.
Their teams play a slow-it-down style and do well during conference play: Wisconsin's finished top 4 in Big10 play for every year Bo Ryan's been there and Georgetown is (was) at the top for the Big East. Once the tournament comes, they don't get it done. Georgetown made a FF in 07 and has subsequently underperformed every year. Wisconsin's got one Elite Eight from Ryan mixed with 7 1st/2nd round exits.
