I've got a brand new Polo suede belt for sale. It was made in England, and it may have been made by Crockett & Jones. The width is about 1.25" - perfect dress belt. The color is more like a snuff suede - slightly darker and more brown than it appears in the photo. The flash on my camera also makes it seem like there is contrast stitching, but there is not. The buckle is an antiqued brass. The size is 40. Retail was $125, and it would have been worth every penny at that price. I'm a bit surprised it wasn't more like $150-$175. I'm asking $40 shipped.

I wish it were my size. Argh!

You can't get it cut shorter? It's mighty nice...

Here's a pic stolen from the P Lal site of the C&J belts. When you click on it, click on the Tobacco Suede belt, and the expander icon will appear on the right at the bottom. Click on it, and the image will be expanded; then scroll down a little.

You'll notice that there are some real similarities between the C&J one and the Polo one in the OP. Two differences: the C&J has only one keeper, and the buckles are different. Still, I'd bet it's made by C&J.

Question: Is yours the same darker color as the C&J Tobacco Suede belt?

It's very similar in color, but I think the Polo one is slightly less "bright." Though I wouldn't be surprised if the C & J catalogue is slightly photoshopped (the handgrade brown shoes, for instance, look slightly different in person than in the catalogue). It is in that same family of brown for sure though.

I just don't know who else could have done it other than C & J.

In terms of cutting it down, I'd rather see the belt have a nice home than me taking it to someone who might mutilate it.
