any reason in particular? or just because they are "scene", which is a word i'd rather live without
i think what people should be hating is that fallout boy/panic at the disco garbage
i've seen the moving units and hint hint and enjoyed both.

Shellshock I'm lovin' the avatar. I really can't think of anything better than attaching a whistle to my muffler.

Both of these are some of the best blues I've heard in a long time:
- Super Chikan "What You See"
- Robert Belfour "Pushin My Luck"

- Van Morrison "The Complete Bang Sessions"
- Blackalicious "Nia"

And for writing essays/studying "Appalchia Waltz"

^^^ I love that Sparks record.

Hey Hawkeye, I got the BORN TO RUN LP a little while ago on eBAY. It is a challenging record. I keep trying to like it, but then the *****-tonk sax comes in. I just don't get the Bruce Bombast. No finesse. And his lyrics are alternately amazing and awful.

I like NEBRASKA, but everything sounds better home-recorded on a 4-track.

The Tortoise/Bonny Billy cover record steered me to BORN TO RUN, but their version is waaaaaaaaaay better.

great playlist (minus babyshambles

).....i also agree on the Arctic Monkeys. I tried giving it another chance this morning, and it's only as good as "so-so" for me. The Rakes are the best new band I've heard in a while.

Denim, I love the Tortoise/bonny Billy cover, but it dosen't have the same urgency of Springsteen's character trying to get out of a small town. Springsteen's lyrics on this album are more like storys, it's really a "consept album" about kids in a small town trying to get out. I think of Dazed and Confused when I listen to it, I think it's brilliant, you should try giving it a couple more goes. I read about it on Amazon and there was a lot of talk about the Phil Spectre wall of sound, I really love the way he builds up the songs through the horns and drums (Max).

I'm going to give it a few more spins. It hurts, though, like in DUNE when you put your hand in that box and your skin melts off and you take out your hand and it is fine. No lasting damage.

I do have a Phil Spector prejudice, dead waitresses notwithstanding. How can you mess up Beatles AND Ramones records?

Nevertheless, thank you for your prodding. I WILL like that record, even if it destroys me.

It's funny, I listened to Born In The USA so many times when I was a kid, because my mother had the cassette in the car, that I really didn't like Springsteen for a long time (same with Zeppelin to a lesser extent(long car trip with IV for hours)) but I caught a little of a live show on PBS a couple of months ago and I was surprised at how great it was. I also think that the Phil Spector influence goes back a little further before he went really crazy.
