How do you guys dress on vacation?

So how do you guys dress (particularly the streetwear guys) when you go travelling to non-Western places, especially on 'adventure' type holidays?

Do you still go baller?

Just something i've been thinking about recently as I'm considering going on a trek from Argentina to Cuba some time in the future in mostly rural scenery but I also intend on mixing in a fair amount of city living.

Casual style. When it is weekend, I prefer to wear those simple and comfortable casual clothes.

Bad. In general.

Since I only take holidays in cities, it's not a stretch to dress properly. I do have tweed for the country.

same as I usually do. jeans, t-shirts and button ups.

I have a few travel staples though...mainly black v-neck t-shirt and a packable windbreaker.

It depends on the adventure really, when I was in Iceland I packed one dress shirt as I knew I only needed to be dressed up in Reykjavik, in Germany/Austria I packed 50/50 on dress clothes and ski/adventure clothes. Also where you are traveling to makes a huge difference. I'm in Manchester at the moment and packed dress/street clothes but also a nicer rain coat, which surprisingly I haven't needed knock on wood

Coat and tie for dinner and usually just a coat for touring.

I thought it was the most generalised term I could use to get the message across. My other options are 'southern hemisphere', 'Third World' or 'The Land of the Unfree' take your pick

And Argentina and Cuba are simply my start and finish points

How will you be traveling, car, bus, foot? If your on a bus or car and can fit a few dress items then I would, but if your backpacking I wouldn't bother. Just stop in a town and buy a cheap dress shirt, slacks, etc and toss them and move to the next place.

in guayaberas, of course

Tucked-in safari shirt with rolled-up sleeves, with jeans if I'm doing heavy traveling, trousers or stretch trousers if I'm in a city. No matter what the country, I get treated way better with this look than if I was decked out in REI/North Face gear, or alternately shorts and a t-shirt; both of which are rarely worn by locals and usually not seen as respectable clothing. There's something especially distasteful about giant sweaty white people plodding around sacred Thai temples in shorts and sandals.

You wear stretch pants? Nothing especially distasteful about a man in stretch pants.

Stretch wool. A 3% or so lycra content in wool trousers is invisible, and not the shimmering parachute pants you're imagining.
