Selfridges in London (or to be more precise, Kurt Geiger who runs the shoe concession) has just opened a brand-new men’s shoe department, which is supposed to be the largest in the world.

I would say it caters more to a label/design-conscious clientele, than to true shoe-nuts. Most of the manufacturers which are highly regarded in this forum here (G&G, Vass, Carmina, St Crispins etc.) cannot be found in Selfridges.

Nevertheless, one guy holds up the torch for ‘real shoes’: it’s our member Justin “The Shoe Snob” who has pitched his tent in Selfridges. He can be found in the afternoons in Selfridges while he does his morning shifts within Gieves & Hawkes.

So hurry along, all of you, and bring him some shoes to polish!
