these sulpher wefts will turn out very differently though. i wish there was a pair of 702s that has been broken in long enough to see some real development.

Pic taken with flash on, if you look closely, you can see where the tailor changed the pink inseam.  It is a slightly lighter pink now.  I had no clue they'd go that far up the inseam or use a different color, I was told it would be the same but I guess not.  I don't mind it at all now.  It's much less noticeable, since the denim was so dark, the hot pink of the original really stood out.  This pink is more muted so I'm happy!  Didn't realize how much the denim was changing color already.

Am i alone in thinking that there shouldn't be a cut off date for when people can join. Ultimately, the newer participants are at a disadvantange as we've starte before them, no?

Haha, no - it's a great looking shoe. Traditionally balmorals are more reserved for suiting, and bluchers are the casual end of "dress shoes," but whatever. Roll with it. The strand is a great shoe.

Quick breakdown:

Balmoral:

Essentially, are the laces woven through the main upper of the shoe (Bal)? or are they through an attached piece of leather (Blu)? Bluchers are more casual, Balmorals are more formal.
