Edward Green Sale - Page 2

Ouch!

Well I love to hunt for potential bargains so I am planning to attend

I am considering offering proxy services (up to a few pairs) if there is enough interest.

However, not having performed this role before I am unsure about the usual "terms and conditions", so hopefully more experienced members can help out.

I wonder for example whether it would be expected that the 'client' put down a deposit -naturally fully refundable if the agreed shoes and or price could not be achieved- or is the risk fully on the proxy's side? Is the proxy's fee fixed upfront, or some percentage of the final price, etc

Thanks for any feedback

One of the ' old timers' around here has all the "dirt", on how the Spiv manages to continually pull this Off.

I think you are baleric on ebay (from what I gathered on your links), and if so, I'm definitely not referring to you. I remember seeing a bunch of JL 2nds on ebay from the same seller going for 700-1000.

I've been last year to this sale and there were indeed racks of odd pairs of various style at very cheap prices but the rest of the area was more current stock at around 20-40% as I recall, the cheaper end of these being seconds but only very slight faults. The really cheap £100-200 pairs were likely seconds or oddball pairs etc. Maybe these were the ones this spiv advertises as "super rare"?!

I think they are trying to really ramp up sales via the factory. They moved the factory shop around inside their site and the email i got says:

To celebrate the opening of our new factory shop we have a special sale this weekend.

We have a great selection of odds and seconds with a flat 20% reduction on our normal factory shop prices.

Our factory shop has been redeveloped in a larger space, offering a better range than before. Shoes will normally be priced at 30%, 40% and 50% off retail. This Saturday will see an extra 20% one day reduction.

The sale is for personal shoppers only  - with a maximum of 5 pairs per customer.

Saturday 10th | 8.30am -3pm

The shop's opening hours are usually 9-4.30 (Mon-Thurs) & 9- 4(Friday)

London copper slang from the rap sheets abbreviation "Suspected Person/Itinerant Vagrant".
