Cadillac has been coming out with some pretty interesting stuff lately.

That's a pretty car. The best example of "Art & Science" yet.

I'd like to know if this made sense to anyone else.

He's pulled a Connemera.

I've always loved Cadillacs. And, yes . . . that name has done well as of late, in a keenly competitive environment. My favorite was the 1960 model. Those shark fins and fender skirts, were wicked.

The interior is actually not bad, but the exterior looks rather plasticky (esp the front).

Wonder what the CTS-V will look like for 2008/9. Heard it will have a 6.2L engine. Also heard rumors of that engine being supercharged, and pushing 600HP.

It's FUGLY and it stole the Audi Shield grill idea. And no, there is no way the V-version of this car will be an M3 killer...

Matter of fact, that grille is made of metal.
As a side note, Cadillac dealers are offering 30% discount on the (new ) XLR-Vs.
Here's my Q: who the fuck is gonna touch a $100K vehicle that managed to lose 1/3 of its value without so much as leaving the sales lot ?
And what kind of subvented lease offer would GM credit need to come up with to entice potential buyers ?
More importantly, how hard will GM take it up the ass on the actual depreciation once the vehicle is turned back in ?

Like the rest of the "sporty" Caddies, it's trying too hard. GM is not going to put a dent in the sport sedan market any time soon. On a related news, GM managed to make some money in the 4th Quarter of 06. It's the UAW that's been sticking it up their ass in the last few decades. If GM negotiates its union liabilities down significantly, hires some new blood in their R&D and middle management, they might even thrive in a few years. Among the Big 3, I have the most hope for them.

The rear end is huge. On that 3/4 view from behind, look at the distance between the rear wheel and the top edge of the taillight. Plus, I don't like the angular look of Cadillac's. The interior isn't quite so bad, but the seats look like individual La-Z-Boy's for the driver and passenger. I like to sit IN the seat, not ON the seat.

I saw this in person at the recent auto show here in atlanta, its a lot more aggresive looking in the flesh. I was quite impressed.
