I consider it far more problematic that in the relatively brief time it took Luke to grow into an adult the galaxy seems to have forgotten about the Jedi Order. Han doesn't really seem to believe they existed, etc.

Any mention of the Jedi was erased from the history books at Han's middle school per the Emperor's order.

Everything about how they are presenting this project to the public has been spot on. Perfect messaging and marketing that's hitting all the right notes for fans who felt burned by the prequels. I expect it to be a phenomenal film based on the love and care that seems to be being put into it, but even on the worst case of an outcome I would be shocked if it's not at least an above average experience.

I disagree. It'll be a shallow nostalgia-fest, well-received at first but inspiring little passion or continuing interest. See "Star Trek 2009."

They are even nailing the creature designs. Great work here by the SFX team.

Re: Ataturk's post. I'd still be happy if it was only as good as the 2009 Star Trek reboot. The film would still be worlds better then what the prequels brought us and be a nice jumping off point for the revitalized franchise. I'm expecting much better then that, but even at a minimum that would be a good thing for Star Wars and fans.

Live Star Wars Series coming to Netflix?

Via: http://www.cinelinx.com/tv/item/8034-star-wars-live-action-tv-update-netflix-bound-exclusive.html

With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens a mere four months away, and the first standalone Film Rogue One in production Star Wars fans have turned their attention to Television. Back in March it was announced that Disney was looking at the possibility of a live action Star Wars TV show. One of the hurdles they faced was Nailing down their Cinematic schedule. This would allow them to share film sets with the television series. With a release date now set for Episode VIII is seems that the schedule may be falling into place.

Now Jordan Maison over at Cinelinx has shared new information on what Disney may have planned for TV and it sounds like it involves Netflix. Impressed with the success of Marvel’s live action series Daredevil Disney would like to expand their partnership with the streaming media provider, and introduce multiple Star Wars shows. They plan to follow the blueprint set by Marvel with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders. Considering the successful working relationship they have with the provider. The Netflix model this seems like a right place to explore the the types of stories they would not be able to do on network TV.
