I pretty sure that's not what you think it is based on some rumors I read a while back.

I believe that's the snow planet that the First Order is shown on in the already released trailers. They build some kind of super weapon into the side of the planet itself. So it wouldn't really be a new Death Star, but something new to the universe that we haven't seen before. We already know much of the movie is playing on the imagery/iconicity of the original trilogy, so I don't see a problem with this either.

I think we are getting our first real look Lupita Nyong's motion capture alien character. The orange alien next to R2 on the poster.

Also of note, our favorite space princess is maintaining her knack for interesting hair styles.

There is some airbrushing going on in that photo, but yes she did. Mark leaned up some too and put on a little muscle getting ready for the shoot. When you have a large movie studio paying for personal trainers and stipulating that you get into better shape before filming you see these types of changes happen. I'd expect them both to bounce back as quick as Mark shaved his beard when filming was done.

I'm extremely psyched for the trailer to hit today. Hoping they release it online before it's shown during the game tonight.

I've also been reading some interesting speculation that:

What we see in the poster may be some kind of weapon launcher that orbits the ice planet like a small moon (insert ANH joke here). Smaller then a Death Star and dependent on the base and operations on the planet to provide the energy that it will focus and launch out at the target.

Perhaps the trailer tonight will make this all clear.

Luke become a double-faced Palpatineish character manipulating both sides of a conflict

In the original movies, the idea was that Luke might turn evil because 1) his only other choice was death; and 2) (spoiler alert) his dad. But every time they tempted him with power it turned him off. He never really seemed to have that kind of ambition.

So with dad out of the way and with no one holding a gun to his head, why would Luke go evil? It's completely out of character.

Anakin turned out of fear of losing his wife. Luke, I assume, would turn out of a similar, longstanding frustration. Sure, he doesn't gravitate towards power, per se, but you have him latching onto an idealistic rebellion, who after fighting and suffering so much (some 30 years after blowing up the 2nd Death Star) still don't have reign on the galaxy apparently - inasmuch as the Rebellion is now the Resistance, and the Empire still the First Order. The status quo hasn't changed (based on info we currently have). I'd get kind of frustrated with my life work going nowhere. Skywalker wants to "bring order to the galaxy"?
