The second one looks very promising too.

Assuming he doesn't helm the third Star Trek movie, two solid films is more than enough for your typical trilogy franchise.

I say, save all your good ideas for Star Wars! Now, that's a franchise that is in dire need of assistance.

Well, he would do a better job than Lucas, so I'm happy.

In any just universe Lucas would have been killed by meteorites after Empire Strikes Back.

I am hoping this is going to be about Grand Admiral Thrawn. If it is - I will be SUCH A FANBOY

J.J. Abrams Will Still Produce a Third Star Trek Film

After yesterday's surprise announcement that J.J. Abrams will be franchise-hopping from Star Trek to Star Wars, fans have been curious about what that means for the future of the U.S.S. Enterprise and her crew. Today, Paramount Pictures tells The LA Times that Abrams remains committed to Trek and will, at the very least, serve as producer on Star Trek III (or Star Trek XIII, depending on your point of view). What's more, he's also going to remain attached to at least one more film in the Mission: Impossible franchise.

I kind of enjoyed the new Star Trek movie, for what it was, but I can't understand how anyone wants to watch another given how shallow the whole thing was. The plot, actors, special effects, jokes, you name it, all seemed to be stretched thin in one movie--I expect you're in for a major disappointment when it gets fleshed out.

I just hope and pray this doesn't turn out to be Star Wars: "Super 8" style

It won't be. No Star Wars movie has ever been about its source. Lucas et al are terrible.
