I rewatched them recently. They really are pretty terrible.

I don't even associate the character of Anakin in the prequels with Darth Vader from the OT. They don't connect for me so I find it easier to separate them in my mind.

I've still never seen the entirety of III. I heard it's the best out of the prequels, but that's not much of an accomplishment.

One of my most sincerest hopes is that someone at Disney eventually declares the prequels no longer canon, or even realizes how much many can be made with making Old Republic movies and just ignores them outright.

It wasn't. The final lightsabre battle was just stupid.

Surely it wasn't as bad as the first two? I never watched it. After all, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, I don't deserve to live.

1 was probably the worst. 3 was probably second worst. But at this point it's just comparing dog shit to cat shit to turtle shit. It's still all shit.

I had brief thoughts that Disney remaking the Prequels could be a good idea but then decided against it. For two reasons. 1. It's better to just move forward at this point and create new stories. 2. It opens Pandora's box that they could eventually try and remake the OT too. :Shudder:

FWIW, I think episode 2 was by far the worst of the bunch. It turned the man we were tolf would eventually turn into Darth Vader into a love sick puppy. His dialogue was down right creepy at points too.

I go back and forth on Ep 1 as I have realized over time it's the only one I have strong memories for and a level of nestolgia. Sure it was the single largest letdown of a film in cinematic history, but at least we all went into it excited. That has to count for something... You can't say the same about ep 2 or 3.

No way Revenge of the Sith was worse than Attack of the Clones.

Same for me. If I had to do it, Id let Anakin get into his 40s before he became Darth Vader. I could never imagine him in the Darth Vader suit as a young man. He also could have walked and started gesturing like Darth Vader leading up to the point when he became Darth Vader.

If you follow the prequels, Kenobi was about 45 when he met Luke in Star Wars. But for some reason everyone thought he was so old he couldn't still be alive.

Alec Guiness was only about 5-10 years too old to be ObiWan...

Macgregor was 33 in 2004 when Sith was filmed (born 1971)

19 years between Sith and ANH: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100606234050AA5BZZj

Obi Wan should then look about 52

Guiness was 62 in 1976 when ANH was filmed (born 1914)

Will Ewan McGreggor now be appearing via Force Ghost to Luke in the new trilogy? The whole bit about him fading from Luke's perception from Thawn is now gone.

I consider it far more problematic that in the relatively brief time it took Luke to grow into an adult the galaxy seems to have forgotten about the Jedi Order. Han doesn't really seem to believe they existed, etc.

I agree - the scope of the Jedi in the prequels made them too integral a part of the republic to really have me buy that + the sheer numbers apparently involved in the clone wars.

There may have been a couple hundred total, and most of them seem to have died in that pointless misadventure of a "rescue" in Episode II (which is definitely the worst Star Wars movie, maybe the worst movie ever).
