I read your post so fast it turned into 'So who's the new Gilligan going to be?'

I hope Hamill gets in shape and gets to be the protagonist or at least a major character

he would give 100% for that role. After rewatching both new and old trilogies, Hamil did a great job.

Consider the script he had to work with, he made it work while many more renowned actors like

Portman did poorly.

I am not sure about JJ Abrams. His Star Trek totally lacks the spirit of previous Star Treks. It feels empty.

Maybe he will be more successful with Star Wars. Something in mold of first new Star Trek would work

better for SW in my opinion(pace, mood). My wishful thinking is movie in mold of ESB and with more experienced

"darker" Luke.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but realistically  abomination in the mold of Phantom menace is a likely outcome :(

There's not a chance in hell that Mark Hamill will have any significant role in the movie. And it's going to be the same vapid garbage as the new Star Trek movies. Mark my words.

I could see his role being slightly longer then the OG Spock in JJ's Star Trek. Certainly longer then I expect to see Ford appear on the screen.

I wouldn't worry too much about Hamill's appearance. He just needs to drop a few pounds to slim his face a little. Toss him in full Jedi robes after that and he should look just fine for an older Jedi who has seen many battles in his days.

I'm marking your words Ataturk. I am gonna delude myself that it's gonna be good in the meanwhile.

This is true. Ata and I agree on only about 15% of things but this might have bumped it up to 16%. There is no way in Obama's America this will possibly be good. It will be shit.

Have a little faith guys. I'm trying my best to. Lucas is out and Disney has a lot invested here to get things right. I'm also sure they have taken many notes on the backlash and general hate that the prequels earned from the more hardcore fans over the years. Maybe i'm just fooling myself, but I honestly think they have a chance of pulling this off.

I don't get the hate.

If the new film is done to the same level as 2009's Star Trek, 95% of fans are going to be satisfied.

I always hope for the best. Experience, unfortunately, has taught me to expect the worst.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, technically it was a good movie. If we get something like that without

undermining/removing what original Star Wars established I will be pleased.

You want me to have faith in Disney? Name five Disney movies that are satisfying to adults. The Weinstein films don't count cause they intentionally distance the company from them.
