All I care about is getting the original movies on blu-ray. The work's like 90% done already. How about that, Disney?

Yet on my third hand, I have little love for Disney these days other then the Pixar films.

Don't forget the Marvel movies. I have faith. I didn't hate I-III, but I wouldn't say that they were good by any means. So yeah, it can only improve.

I'd like the original movies. Not the bastardized re sequenced crap

This would be awesome, but I have so little faith in Lucas and Disney that I doubt it'll ever happen. They'll have another half assed trilogy since the 1-3 one made so much cash, why invest in a better script?

Give me the OG on Blu Ray and shove the rest up their billionaire asses.

Kevin Smith nailed the reasoning behind this deal. It's all about young boys. Disney has had the young girls for years. Fairy tales, princesses, dashing princes and castles. The girls are locked in consumers for life. It's the boys they had been lacking to the same extent. That's why they bought Marvel. It's why they now bought Star Wars. The Mouse (no relation) wanted him some young males to play with.

Don't they have Whedon under contract until 2015

Let him screenwrite the Zahn trilogy and direct episode 7 and see what happens.

Don't care *too* much about casting. Yes they are only 5 years older, but what are you going to do? Its not like all of the original actors were the greatest in the world so if you put in some high quality acting, I'd be fine overlooking a mediocre match to the original (and PLEASE do not cast Harrison Ford back into it...)

I feel like you have to leave a little time. Casting replacements 5 years out is one thing, casting replacements to immediately follow ep VI seems strange.

Also, Thrawn trilogy lets them keep with the empire as the enemy as opposed to some goofy alien race.
Of course they could just jump the shark and do New Jedi Order type stories to avoid any casting issues (although they still end up facing a goofy enemy)...
