heard this on npr last year and it's become one of my favorite albums

and it introduced me to the kora and west african music, which turns out to be amazing
i couldn't find my favorite song from that album, "bassekou", on youtube, but it's on spotify

Been obsessed lately with Talking Heads, esp. first 4 albums. Impossible not to groove to the last bit on this song:

guess no one likes death metal?

Saw irkallian oracle in stockholm some time ago, amazing concert, i was extremely wasted and they had this ritualistic set up (including hooded robes) that used worked brilliantly.

New Swans actually sounds amazing, very pleased! The three latest albums have all been beautiful.

I'm seeing them on Tuesday for the third time :)

I will have spare earplugs for Swans first-timers.

You're so kind. I couldn't hear for three days last time I saw them. Didn't have that problem the first time but that was in a big warehouse vs. a smaller church

Saw them in stockholm for the "our father..." tour, people were actually leaving the venue due to the volume. Amazing show though,.

Old habit from the raves I go to. There's always some teenager who's at their first party who just doesn't realise how loud stuff gets. Gira even plays loud with his solo acoustic stuff.

Yep, last couple times I saw them in Koko people looked like they were in pain, not sure how the venue on Tuesday is going to be, but it's better to be prepared for the worst.

I just don't think a lot of people are used to the sheer physicality of the music that Swans are aiming for.
