started exploring a bunch of stroboscopic artefact releases after e0d9n0b5 mentioned it in a thread a while ago. pretty cool stuff; i like the low-fi yet hi-fi sounds, simplicity, and the focus on texture on the majority of the releases.

always listening to stars of the lid because i'm a pretty huge bummer. also, a really nice break when you get tired of the usual song structure.

Godspeed You Black Emperor (GY!BE) released a new album after 10 years and it's fucking tight.

^ I am not into it, tbh. It lacks finesse compared to the earlier stuff. Silver Mt. Zion is still good tho, and I like Efrim's solo stuff.

Well, I haven't listened to their earlier stuff in many years and have set myself up for disappointed since it's been a decade. And all the recent releases from my favorite acts have been lackluster. This just brings the eerie and serious instrumentation I love.
