I know we've probably all graduated from porcupine tree but you really can't beat a sick drummer playing over a tight groove...

18th is a big day for albums. Looking forward to seeing how Statik Selektah does.

Melbourne based singer, listening to her live is a very different experience than listening to her album. Understandably the sound guys tend to foreground her vocals and the dynamics are hair-raising, but the mastering on the album is a little more laid back.

Full Album on Soundcloud.

really digging the new Jon Hopkins album. Both the low-key (which feature King Creosote if I'm not mistaken)  and more beats-y stuff really work

seems like the Disclosure album has the House (PUN INTENDED) divided.

Need more geetars in here.

Baby Grandmothers- Self Titled (1968)

Absolute killer psychedelic album from Sweden. I like in particular how they start out with one sort of motif (? probably nowhere near the correct terminology) and continue to build off of it and get more complex, but still retain or come back to the original. Reminds me of the opener on Neu!'s self titled. As far as I know they only had two releases under this name, absolutely recommended. I think the whole album is on youtube.

Listened to the whole Chance mix tape today. good stuff. I think there are maybe some guest rappers on a couple tracks? who are amazing. or maybe that's him. anyway.. it's pretty damn good. I can see how the labels are jumping to sign him.

Also listening to Wild Belle the last few days.

This might be the first time a beat contest yielded a good song. Vibe magazine held a contest with Big K.R.I.T. picking Foreign Allegiance to work with. IIRC he usually produces almost all of his own stuff.

Have a ticket to see the The Bug tomo, but don't know if I can be bothered to go.

This is making me happy right now.
