It's alpaca which is basiclly a domesticated vicuna. Most  stuff labelled vicuna is really alpaca  which sells for a fraction of the price. Alpaca is very nice but since vicunas are wild it's a lot more work catching them and shearing them. I doubt very much if vicuna is much superior to the top alpaca to justify the higher price.

The value of something is what someone is willing to pay for it which may be nothing so it's just worth something to you to wear yourself.

Value also depends on quality but especially condition. A Chippendale chest in mint condition may be worth $50K, assuming someone wants to buy it, while if it's in rotten, broken and damaged cond. it may be good for firewood.

Man, if that thing was llama I'd be all over it.

I'm hoping for a similar outcome here with this piece. We'll know in a few days. I'll report back my results.

The sleeves are VERY short at 23.5 inches. Most sleeves are 26 inches long and allow for shortening.

The style of the jacket is outdated. Low gorge on the collar, low chest pocket, long distance between low chest pocket and low sitting hip pockets.

Go ahead and post results from a few days. Spoo knows his auctions and pricing.

It's worth $30-40,  assuming anyone wants to buy it. How much did you pay for it?

IMG-20121126-00080.jpg 1339k .jpg file Here are the measurements I just took of the jacket.
Chest pit to pit: 22.5"
Shoulder 18.5" across
Length 30.25"
Sleeve shoulder to middle end point of cuff 23.5"

It's a fake tag.

Thank goodness it wasn't my size, otherwise I'd be quite miffed that I missed it.

Further on the Valentino, it's from the Tailoring line, which is usually Isaia if I recall.
