Income!

Hey guys, I figured this might be another interesting poll. To keep it annonymous (and to prevent bragging), you might not want to make a post stating your income level. The reason I think this would be an informative thread is that most of the discussion on this board is of fine clothing. I know many members are able to afford Brioni, Kiton, bespoke, etc, so I wanted to see what the income levels were like. I'll include an "under $25k" choice for students like myself, or those with part-time jobs. The choices aren't based on any formal system; I just choose some ranges that I thought would be decent to use.

I hope I can place my vote in a higher category after college .

I know. With all the talk of Kiton suits, bespoke suits and shirts, $4,000 bespoke Lobb shoes that there would be a few people placing votes there.

Seems that most of the people on here are students.Judging from the poll results. I have a add on question what will your first major purchase. Or even better lets say your first job you recieved a $20,000 bonus and you decided to spend it on clothes. What would you buy?

Well I would most likely invest much of that $20,000, however I would leave maybe a few thousand for adding to my wardrobe. What I bought exactly would all depend on the conditions; an inventory would be taken to see what parts of my wardrobe I could add to. However, with that said, I tend to have absolutely no will power when it comes to clothes, and just purchase whatever I like. In all seriousness though, I would most likely head straight to New York and get some made to measure Borelli's. Also a Loro Piana turtleneck navy cashmere sweater...the possibilities are overwhelming.

Honestly? I'd probably use most of it on clothes. Most likely all Dior too, or whatever label I'm really into at the time.

I would invest 15k and keep the rest in the bank and spend it freely.

I told one phone "consultant" that I had won the lottery and that the interest from my winnings put me at a cool Mil a year, and was waiting until my house was finished before moving out of the trailer. Another time, I told another consultant that I was in the 300K plus bracket, but was living in a $500 sublet to see how the other half lived. Yet another time, I told the poor girl that I was a homeless person who had just broken into the house and was robbing the place blind - so, maybe a thousand dollars today, but probably closer to 300 because the pawn guy was a greedy pig. I'm not sure what she made of that - probably that I was a smart aleck she'd just wasted 10 minutes on. Grad school was a great place to get distracted and make mischief.

I think its interesting that nobody makes 1-3 million. What, is it not GOOD ENOUGH to make a million bucks a year anymore? And uh... I hope we were talking gross income, cause if not I should have been in the under 25k bracket.

I received $26,000 from my grandfather's estate. I used half to pay off my graduate school student loans and the other half to backpack around the world for a year. The clothes were able to wait.
