Is this beautiful Zileri SC too short?

So I found a beautiful grey/brown SC in Pal Zileri in the Satoriale line at their outlet. I think it is about an inch shorter than what would be ideal. The jacket has really chunky MoP buttons, mostly hand stiched. I'm a little bit in love with it, but it is skating on not covering ******. Probably impossible to lengthen right. Is this one a keeper? I have 28 days to decide...

The store carries all regular cuts, but I notice their regular runs really short in pretty much everything. Is this normal? I would have thought it'd be scowled upon for an SF approved brand.

Opinions appreciated:

It certainly isn't the traditional length but it strikes me as a good fashion-forward length. Looks nice with dark denim at the bar but not with slacks in the office. Your call really, if you're self-conscious in it you wont be able to pull it off.

I have jackets that are that short and ones that are much longer, it's nice to have some variety IMO

Looks decent; it's not Thom Browne short.

If I had to guess, green label and 100% cotton?

The chest/waist is far too small. See how the vent isn't staying closed?

Return it.

It's green label 100% virgin wool with a 3 roll 2 lapel. I think there is some fabric to play with, will see what the tailor says. It was either this or the SuitSupply Havana. This one is a much nicer garment overall but the SS was 1" longer. In practice, it doesn't make all that much difference...

Thanks for this, I think the vent might be opening because I have a big ass, for lack of a politer way of putting it! My suits tend to flare at the back because of it. I will double check with the tailor on this but thanks for checking. 28 day return on it :)

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for it? I might take a trip to London soon and was curious as to how much PZ went for at the outlets.

jrd617 has given the best advice on that first jacket, though I personally like the touch of your pose and the proximity to the kitchen knives. The second jacket gives you better lines overall. If, as you say, you have a large backside, then denim or chinos may not work with either of these jackets. You may want to consider some dress pants which will give you less buldge in the back. Welcome to Styleforum.

I checked out the London store, the prices there were mid £800s for Sartoriale green label SCs.

Thanks for this, so it's looking like it might be worth exchanging after all. Shame to let it go. Picked up a beautiful casual jacket in the same outlet though, so it was far from a wasted trip :) Thank you for the welcome.

+1.

His point about flaring might be valid in some cases (muscular fellows will always deal with some degree of this if not wearing bespoke) but, in this case, you're spot on, the waist and the chest are to small.

Your pictures are terrible. Wear contrasting color pants, take clear photos, and don't stand in front of something dark.... it will make it much easier to see.
