The Wide Fitting Shoe Trading Post (EEE / G width) - Page 28

post #406 of 469

OK, gents. So the time has come to unload a few pairs. All of these are available in BS:

**Carmina Chelsea Boot, size 10 EEE (wide), Brown Museum Calf**

Photo Album: http://imgur.com/a/tsW7q

* Asking $400 + $10 shipping
* Worn outside only 1 time.
* This model is $515, and to order it in wide or in museum calf would be an extra 50%
* GMTO through Steve at GF
* Rain last
* Tomir sole
* Toebox too narrow for me, I probably needed a 10.5 EEE instead
* Perfect and gorgeous pair of boots

**Carmina Tobacco suede Chukka, size 10 EEE (wide) BNIB**

Photo Album: http://imgur.com/a/iBvW9

* Asking $450 + $10 shipping
* NEVER WORN
* This model is $515, and to order it in wide or with dainite would be an extra 50%
* GMTO through Steve at GF
* Rain last
* Dainite sole
* Toebox too narrow for me, I probably needed a 10.5 EEE instead
* Perfect and gorgeous pair of boots

**AE Amok unlined chukka, size 10.5 EEE, snuff suede**

Photo Album: http://imgur.com/a/KXquy

* $70 + $10 shipping
* 2nd quality, a rough patch on the toe
* worn only 3 or 4 times
* 234 Last
* butyl sole
* Don't really wear these because I find unlined shoes don't give me enough support.

**AE Eagle River, size 10.5 EEE, Oxblood calf**

Photo Album: http://imgur.com/a/xH5Wt

* $215 + $10 shipping
* These were a GMTO from Styleforum
* worn about 8 or 9 times
* 222 Last
* double leather sole with V-Tread
* These are great boots, but I’ve got my eye on a pair of color 8 shell Alden boots, so these will be redundant.

Thanks, actually, I have looked into New Balance. Pretty much only their running trainers are available in the extended widths. The more casual models are not. I guess I'm looking for something a little more, erm....."fashiony."

I find it epically disappointing that AE, of all companies, made a sneaker and but not in wide sizes. Pretty much made me lose all hope of finding a sneaker with interesting leather. The issue is that anything interesting / cool costs more bucks, which means I'll want to be able to wear it for a while. But if it doesn't fit well, that won't happen. I guess I'll continue uncomfortably breaking Converse on an annual basis.

Bummer on those Carminas, @peppercorn78.

Yeah I agree. And I've heard from a few sources that they're ramping down their previously extensive accommodation of extra wide and extra narrow footed gentlemen. And that's one reason why I'm ramping down my AE purchases.

Wow, no kidding. Width accommodation is such a big piece of the AE brand in my mind (but I suppose it would be given I have wide feet). That is disappointing. I've moved away from AE for most of my purchases but they're are pretty much the only brand I can make an impulse purchase at (all others require either MTOs or specific orders), which I do from time to time (thinking of getting a pair of Sea Islands right now actually).

Self-serving public announcement. I will be listing these 11 EEE Fairfax soon on Ebay. PM me if you are interested before they go to the general public.

You might have seen that Quoddy is having a blucher sale right now ($229). I tried a pair of Quoddy chukkas a few years ago in their wide width, and found them a bit snug. I just ordered a pair of the bluchers in natural chromexcel in EEE width, so we'll see how those fit.

Damnit, if these were Indies I would buy in a heartbeat.

Which Carminas are you buying and what size?

Hey man, are you pulling my leg? I just got your Chelsea boots in museum calf :-) Btw, how do I add my classifieds to the signature? In terms of sizing, it seems that Rain last in 10EEE may fit people in who wear Barrie 10E, Truebalance 10.5E, Barrie 10EEE. This really depends on the shoe type and the foot volume.

Oofta, hahaha!!! Too much wine tonight and I suffer short term memory loss.

Reminds me, I need to update my listing for that pair.

Honestly, I would buy those from you if they weren't plain toe, as I've got a black shell chukka already, and I'm trying to reduce redundancy. Have any Indies in the same size? I can give you some of your money back.

BT dubs, on the desktop version of SF, go to view your profile, scroll down, click on
Edit your sig. You'll see the option there.

I have Indies in CXL in the same size and they are not for sale. Lesson learned CXL breaks in better than Cordovan at least on my feet. I got AF 43 in Cordovan thinking "same last, same size, so they will fit." That was wrong.
