ALDEN INDY to Wolverine 1000 Sizing Question

I wear a size 12.5 in the Alden Indy and I am interested in buying a pair of Wolverine 1000 as more legit working boots.  It seems the Wolverine 1000 only come in full sizes and not half, so does anybody else know if I should size up or down?

As an aside, I really enjoy my Indy's, they are the Kudu with the Vibram sole, very comfy and just a wonderful shoe, but I obviously don't want to beat them up. Normal wear is cool with me as they are still boots and will wear well, but for legit work in the yard and other stuff, I want some 1000's.

I would also look into some Red Wings if anybody has a suggestion there as well.

Cheers,

Paul

1/2 size down on the 1000 mile boots is generally the way to go.

My Indy and 1000 mile boot size are the same.

The Indy Truballance is a bit snugger on my foot.

If unsure always get from someone you send returns to without hassle.

This is confusing; with the Vibram sole and kudu leather your 404s would be far more suited for yardwork while the 1000 Miles with the leather sole would be better for streetwear.

I have the Redwing Beckmans, and I think these would also do fairly well in the yard.

I can see how it might not make sense, but I like the Indy for work.  The leather will hold up well for a nice pair of fall/winter shoes which I can wear on my commute.  The Indy's are also about $450 while I can pick up a pair of used 1000 for $125-$150, so that is the thought.

I will look into the Red Wing Beckman.  There is a Red Wing store near me so I will check those out.

Don't get me wrong I love my 1000 mile boots, but the Beckmans have a rubber sole. A bit better for yard work if you ask me. The leather on these are much thicker and stiffer than the 1000 mile boot. These will require a bit longer break in time.

Be advised but depending where you live the Redwing store may not carry the more expensive boots in their lineup.

I think he means it doesn't come in a 12.5.

Correct, the larger sizes of the 1000 don't appear to come in 1/2 sizes.
