I´ve always worn my pants fairly low in order to make my short, narrow torso seem a bit longer and more manly. This worked until I was about 20, got out of college and found out I was an adult so I had better dress like one.
So now I´m running into a problem. My natural waist, if defined as the most narrow part of my torso or as the same height as my navel, is right below my ribs. Also, my chest and shoulders aren´t very wide. To wear my pants properly, which according to most would be at my waist, I need to get high rise pants. This look perfectly fine when wearing the full suit. Actually, due to the jacket length, I look quite proportionate. However, as soon as I take off the jacket I look like Steve Urkel...
It makes a pretty much impossible to wear slacks and a tucked in dress shirt, without looking a bit silly.
So what´s the best solution to most of you? Do I dress "correctly" and comfortable, and look like I tried to pull my pants in to my armpits, or do I ignore the rules, wear pants on my hips, and perhaps look a bit better?
As a side question...why is it that low rise pants seem to pull in the crotch area when I sit down?!?!
