Most Versatile Leather Colors

I am looking to buy two pairs of leather gloves from Portolano and was wondering what two leather colors would be most versatile?

I would have to say black and brown (preferably a darker brown)

But I am scared they are a little too formal looking. I like the MTM aspect, but I am a college student so I need a pretty casual look

They make good gloves. Leather gloves are good for any attire.
