Rules of etiquette in the Arabic world - Abu Dhabi - Page 2

History is a factor.

If in Arab lands, it is never the "Persian" gulf. "The gulf" or even the "the Arabian Gulf" is far superior.
Note: Situation is reversed in the land of the Persians!

Wearing the t-shirt with huge Hebrew characters/coca cola in Herbrew/Israeli football team etc. or IDF cap is not smart.

GT is correct that Emiratis are few. They are proud of what they have been able to achieve. However, if in AD, please refrain from extolling the wonders of Dubai. They are not the same.

It is not "Aeyraab", The "Ar... in "Arab" is closer sounding to "Ar" in "arugula. The "rab" is not like "ran" but closer to "rub". Please practice and check with a friendly soul.

Unless the new terminal has been constructed, enjoy passing through the green doughnut.

If you are white, look affluent and hang around joints which indicate that, you may make new friends from russia/former soviets/etc. I look poor and do not fit this but it is not that hidden.

Also significant population of Yemeni origin in emirates. No bad things about Yemen too.

I'd follow the rules of your imaginary golf club, it sounded very exclusive.

Note: left/right hand thing is in many places and people take it SERIOUSLY.

The real reason they dont eat with their left hand is because they believe Satan eats with his left hand
