I have posted on the poor watch thread, and was kindly assisted, but I guess I'll ask here again:

Is there a watchmaker out there doing a modern or bauhaus-inspired kind of pocket watch? Saw one in this thread but it was quartz.

Trying to hard to... what? Most of the watches posted here are as minimal as it gets.

I am really into minimalistic watches but erm... the one from Kent Wang is just too much (little?).. it devoids of personality and is just bland, probably that classifies as "trying too hard"?

So you are into minimalistic watches as long as the traditional form is preserved? Thats a rather limited definition of minimal, isn t it? And don t get me wrong, I m a big NOMOS fan. I love the gangreserve, which is probably the most innovative piece of design they have come up with.

hmm, no, i like the watches in this thread, just that they are quartz. and i like nomos and stowa. its just that the kent wang one is one step too far and probably that.can came across as 'trying too hard' as stated by the other user.

^Sorry, no experience whatsoever. It extremely depends on the style you are going for. Post a pic of what you like and I might be able to point you to a few good jewelers.

Kahmir, I agree if quality is the issue. But this thread is more about nice design. Watches are such a wide field, there are dedicated threads for high-end (boring tongue.gif) ones. Its just that (some) people on SW&D are interested in very non-conventional designs when in comes to clothes, but choose traditionally designed accessories.

Just got my ears pierced a week ago, so I'm not too well versed either. I like ones that are kinda minimal, not too flashy. Was gonna pick these up when I'm able to take my current ones out:
