Custom Italian Suits in Washington DC/NOVA

Wanted to let the fellow styleforum members know about an email I received last week. Dash's of Old Town in Alexandria, VA is having a Luigi Bianchi Mantova trunk show next weekend, Friday Oct. 19th - Sunday, Oct. 21st.

The email says Andrea Benedini from LBM will be at Dash's all three days to help with selections and styling advice. They're offering $500 off all custom suits with your choice of fabrics, lining, pique stitching, functional buttons. Personalization and finishing at no extra cost.

I've bought a couple suits from Dash's over the years and I'm always recommending them to my friends. I try to post here whenever I get an email from them that seems like a good deal.

Best, Mike

Here's their info:

Do you know if they are offering any discount on sportscoats/blazers? Any guidance on how their pricing compares to Sofio's on their custom suits?

Not sure about specific discounts on sport coats, but the email did mention they have new Fall/Winter 12/13 LBM 1911 jackets in. I know these are becoming pretty popular.

I'm not familiar with Sofio's. What types of suits to they sell? I would say, just generally speaking, it all comes down to the fabric/mill to what makes a great suit. Having shopped at Dash's over the years, I've been able to get suits made with some really nice fabrics like Loro Piana and Cerruti. I know they also carry Zegna fabrics too. As far as I've seen, the value for the high quality you get at Dash's is second to none.

Hope this helps. -Mike

Thanks for the info.  I am not familiar with the Luigi Bianchi Mantova Line.  Can you give me an idea of price range on these suits?

Thanks!

I think it really depends on the fabric used to construct the suit, so there is definitely a range. If memory serves, a usual custom price is about $2000, so it would be around $1500 for their trunk show. It's hard to do an apples to apples comparison with suits since there are so many different factors. Maybe just give them a quick call or shoot them an email to be sure?

Best, Mike
