I'm not sure what I think about this new look. One thing I know, though, is I miss the v in styleforvm. Please bring it back.

The new logo is definitely better. Only thing I don't like is that the light blue in the background color of some table cells blend in too much with the background color. Also, there seems to be some alignment issues in both firefox and safari on os x.

We don't care about OSX users here.

Looks fine on both FF and IE on Windows.

Yeah, I liked the Romanness of it, too. Oh well.

from the other thread:

Yeah, there will be some touch-up work around the place for the next few days. I may redo all the buttons actually, since they are all default/boring.

The new logo may change to some degree as well, but I wanted to put something other than the old one (which I hated). The one we have right now was basically designed by Brian (SD), but I had to recreate it as the copy I had wasn't good. I like it though... maybe a tweak or two.

Yeah, it is because I'm on a 12" screen. Things start to look funky around 1024x768 and under. In your url bar type: javascript:resizeTo(1024,768) and then browse around. The blues look much more flattering in os x.

After one minute of the new site, I have to say, looks great guys!

The Vargas nudes watermark on the background is a stroke of genius!

My only concern is that one of the most important smileys seems to be malfunctioning... testing...

We're discussing the changes in private. You're free to offer suggestions but be considerate in that it's impossible to please everyone and if all six billion-whatever members of ours were critiquing it, I'm sure j's head will explode.

Curious to hear about the v or u thing. I personally preferred the u. What's the consensus with you guys?

We have a slightly snazzier version of the logo already done, but it just needs to be formatted for the web (it's currently on a different computer of mine which I can't get to atm).

I like all the enhancements, but please bring back the original v and white background.

definitely the 'u'. Maybe even put a circle around the 'u' for fun. The 'v' kinda felt a bit too much like executive/business style, which isn't the style I'm going for. The new logo is much cleaner I think, and more modern.

The white background was pretty glaring. We are working on options there - I may set up an "old SF" theme that you could switch to. Maybe.

So, no conservative business dress then?
