Weirdguys are much, much better in my opinion. It's slim yet not too skinny and has a pretty good appealing silhouette.
I will need to try on in store then. What other jeans do you wear that you would compare the slim guys to? I like clean jeans that are basic. Thats what I enjoy about J Crews denim. The fits are nice and they are good washes. Just not great quality apparently.

I don't really know what to compare the slim guys to. Maybe 501's?

If you really like the J crew jeans, then by all means get them. I wouldn't say they are shit quality but just a little overpriced.

I've narrowed down the search to

Unbranded Brand
Levi's 513 (currently on sale 30%)
Uniglo

All of these jeans are less than $80 a pair.

I've got a couple pair of Taylor Stitch denim and I like them at 128 bucks.  I like the fit, they're tapered but not close to being skinny.  Only thing is you might not be able to get your size, they don't seem to restock denim very often.  Also N&F is great for the price.

I love my APC new standards. They're a bit higher than 150 but I've see NWT and NWOT on the B&S section for under.

Apparently uniglo Japanese Selvedge are pretty great but I've never tried.

Are the Levi's 511s and 514s true to their fit? I wear a 31 in J Brand and a 30 in APCs. It took a couple of wears to really get the APCs comfortable. I don't have time to visit a store and the 30% expires today. Suggestions?

Still hesitant to pull the trigger on these Levis 511s or 514s. Seems as though the quality doesn't last past 1 year. How often does Levi have sales on their website? I've never really browsed on there before...

Also, the reviews on Unbranded Brand are really hit or miss. I may just save up for another pair of APC New Standards.

Just so you know, the Made in USA line is excluded from the sale.  Your only selvedge option between 511 and 514 that the sale applies to is this one: http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12310157&&cp=3146842.3146854.3691990

 

Also just a heads up Nudies will be on sale at Hautelook.com on Wednesday, you could wait and see if they'll have any raw or selvedge options.

 

Also in terms on the quality of the Levi Made in USA 511's, I have a pair and they're one of my favorite jeans.  I wouldn't say they're worth the full $178, but I picked mine up from Hautelook for $60 and they're definitely a step up from Unbranded.  Nice Cone Mills 13 Oz. denim, chain stitched hem, hidden selvedge coin pocket, and the rivets are a step up from standard Levis.  Not as good as my 3sixteens or Baldwin, but much better than I expected.

Levi's does sales on their website all the time you need to sign up for their email newsletter.

Thanks man. I am going to watch this website. I appreciate your feedback. I was undecided about the Levis. And for about $100 wasn't sure if the Wet Indigo jeans would be worth it.
