Best Brands of Denim under $150

I've started to do some research on the forum looking for the best brands that make jeans under $150. Some of us cannot justify spending over $100 on denim while others pend up to $300. As far as value, the names frequently mentioned are Uniglo and Levis 501s. Does anyone else have any good value brands?

I've seen APCs marked down to $100 from time to time...

Naked & Famous has served me well. Pretty sure they can be found under 150

Nudie (says general consensus, not I ... I don't really wear jeans).

The Unbranded Brand @ $78
Naked & Famous Denim @ $130 to $170
Levis may also work for you.

for $150 price point best bet is Naked & Famous imo.

Has anyone ever tried J Crew denim compared to Naked and Famous? Most of the things I've read on SF say J Crew denim is not worth $100. Also, Levi's has a Made in USA line, any thoughts?

501s if you like the fit. Not really much point in anything else in that price range. The difference between a $120 pair of jeans and 501s is little to nothing.

The only thing you might find that is any real difference is labor standards. You could pay $150 for a pair of jeans made by a factory where people get benefits and a reasonable wage, or you could pay $60 and get a pair made in a sweatshop. The actual quality of the denim and the construction is about the same.

+1 on N&F

but if you can find a pair on sale below $150, I suggest APCs.

+1. I'm not the biggest denim junkie and about $200 is my upper limit. I own 3 pairs: APC New Cure, J. Crew 484, and Naked and Famous. Quality of the APC and N&F is higher than the J. Crew. I bought the J. Crew one solely for the wash.

Gap selvedge in straight fit.

This is usually the time when people throw Uniqlo selvedge into the ring, but since I haven't handled it, my endorsement is for gap slim selvedge. The poster above me mentioned straight fit but from my experience it isn't as good as the slim fit. I can't remember now to well but when I was in store the slim model seemed to have better denim and details and didn't have pocket details. Either way, sub $100, gap all the way.

What is the fit like on N&F slim guy? I have some APC New Standard and was told to size down 2 sizes. That proved to be worthwhile. They aren't any stores that carry the jeans near me..

I dislike the slim guys. It's not as slim as it sounds and the thighs are quite baggy.
Weirdguys are much, much better in my opinion. It's slim yet not too skinny and has a pretty good appealing silhouette.
