i only (lol only an SFer says that) have 5 pairs at present. i have 2 shelves in my closet above the clothing. i line up the boxes on the shelves, and put the shoes inside the bags on top of the corresponding box.

After taking a number of snapshots (I never like to take more than 6, as my moods usually don't swing further than that), I invite a few photographer friends over for a session of fit pics which I then swiftly send over to styleforum.net for further validation.

While waiting for the team at styleforum.net to choose the worthy pair of shoes to be worn for the day, I usually like to leave the chambers and take a lovely walk around the grounds, usually enjoying a delicious drink called ' americano ' , which is usually a delicate mixture of water and espresso. i like these to be iced.

Finally, we decide on the shoes to be worn and the unworthy choices are usually sent to be burned into the fire. Now, here is where it gets interesting...
I like to venture out wearing the chosen ones and determine their success dependant on interactions with ladies, or even friendly faces and happenings.

A good day, and the shoes are promptly delivered back to my castle to be cleansed and de-germed, put back into their display cases and given a brand new treatment so that if I were to pick them again, they will be brought back to their original state.

A bad day, and they are immediately banished from my castle and silenced, before being brutally burned by a pit of fire, turned into ash, and never to be spoken of again.

** I keep mine in the original boxes using cedar wood or lime shoe trees in their original boxes, at the bottom of my Ikea double-wardrobe. Probably would like to buy another 5 pairs at some stage (over the years and not all at once) because I have too much black. I'll also either sell, but probably donate my Loake 1880 Aldwych's because I find the leather too hard, and the last is not elegant enough.

Except for maybe a pair of tan casual shoes (coming round to derbies, but still prefer oxfords and single monks), I'm good for now. I still have my eyes on the Carmina whole-cuts on the Simpson last. Let's wait and see what Meermin produce in tan or burgundy in the Linea Maestro range.

** I actually have 7 - but the less said about the 2 pairs before I discovered SF, the better. Time to put those in my charity wardrobe.

I can see a shorter version with more levels working as a really efficient and not bulky looking solution...1 or 2 shelves wide but more like 5-6 tall. This could potentially fit in a lot of closet/bedroom spaces.
Do you have the longest closet in the world? Is your hallway also the shoe-emporium?
