Need Marriage Dress Advices??

Hello everyone,

 

Please offer me advices or help me with the tips! Thank you all!

I am a Chinese guy, so the size may different.

 

1. Suit, I bought new suit from Zegna which I like it. Should be okay. happy.gif

Similar to this one, but in GREY. Size 48R

2. Shirt, I really like French Cuff shirt, had a pink Zegna one.

But big problem is the collar, the shirt size is 15.75/40 which is big for me, but the collar still very tight.musicboohoo[1].gif

Need help with shirt, should I go for custom one? Any good looking cufflink?

 

3. Shoes. Size 9.

To Boots New York? Allen Edmonds?

Is the brown one not formal enough for marriage? mwink[1].gif

4. Tie.

Zegna, red one with dot. should be fine since Chinese people love red.

Absolutely! You should go with a custom one. I suppose that you'll wear a tie too, and you'll need to feel at ease all the day long (with a too tight collar shirt you could feel uncomfortable).

As the fabric of your suit seems to be a textured one, I'd suggest a solid white shirt or a white shirt which is a bit textured too.

Nice suit.

If you have issues with one specific shirt (collar too tight, while rest too big) you have the choice between custom made or looking for slim-fit shirts (custom will probably fit you much better if you get it from a good shirtmaker)

Regarding shoes I would prefer Allen Edmonds over To Boot. The decision if brown is formal enough needs to be made by you - it is your wedding.

I understand that a red tie is a must-have for a Chinese wedding (lets hope it works out and you will be lucky). However, in this case I would not go with a pink shirt - light blue or white would be better choices.

thanks..Personally I think it is my problem..but should be my problem with big neck..lol..

Shirt Size 38 works great but I could not breath.

The suit cost me $800 at Woodbury. really great deal since around 3000 in China.

Any good shirtmarker recommend? US is fine.

Yes, red stands for lucky and happy in Chinese festivals and important events.

I know the royal wedding in Western Culture should wear white tie, formal is black tie. The culture different.

BTW, I am still looking for a good looking cufflink and pocket square.

Sorry, don't have any recommendations for shirtmakers there, but there should be someone knowledgable on this forum.

No to brown shoes. Yes, it is your wedding and you may wear whatever you like(brown shoes, purple shoes, polka dot belt) but since you asked, there is an answer.

And as mentioned, already, if you are going custom for a shirt(or just buying another one) do not go pink if the tie is red.

Were you on one of those tourist buses bringing the hordes to Woodbury?

Fascinating place.

Hope the suit fits you well. I think the style is quite nice.

Don't forget to have any alterations done to your suit to get it looking as good as possible on you.

I like the zegna suit, great choice there. I agree tha t  you should opt for a white shirt and please use black shoes.
