that would be what I did. I loved my old job (hated pay, hated industry, but the people and the work was great) .. I was in a unionized role, so people dream of that kind of stability .. But, just kept applying for jobs that I thought would make me happier.

i have some acquaintances that went through recruiters (for external employment)
if you have option of internal transfer, i imagine its tons easier

I've moved 4 times for jobs starting with my first real job at 23. I've loved every move. Go for it. Now that i'm 34 and in a serious relationship I'm looking for more stability.
